It is difficult to determine the exact issue without further information. However, some possible solutions could be to check if the program is compatible with the updated Windows operating system or to reinstall the program again. It may also be helpful to check the program's settings and ensure that the task is configured correctly.
If I already have created a backup on an external hard drive and I change the folder structure on my laptop before the next time that I re-run the backup on the HDD, will my laptop's new folder structure overwrite the old folder structure on the updated, external backup?

Yes, the new folder structure on the laptop will overwrite the old structure on the external backup if it is not set up to specifically append or update existing files.
No, GFI Backup 2011 is not virus-free. Like any other software, it is possible for malware to infect it. It is important to have up-to-date antivirus software and regularly scan your system to protect against viruses.
This product appears to run reasonably on Windows 8.1 Pro. However, LOGs report throws the following error : "Volume Shadow Copy error: Incorrect function". GFI is no longer supporting this product. They discontinued it 1st Jan 2013. Is there something that I can do to overcome this?

Unfortunately, Volume Shadow Copy is a service provided by Microsoft that was discontinued before Windows 8 was lunched. This happened because Microsoft introduced File History feature in Windows 8 that allows to back up your files and restore them whenever you want. To find out more about this feature, visit the following website. Due to all this, there is no way to overcome the error that you encounter.
"WARNING: Could not export registry key: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\VirtualStore\MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Avery Dennison.
This is the same for almost all registry keys. Could somebody tell me how to overcome this?

You receive this error because the application you're using is not qualified to access the system's resources. Since registry is a part of the Windows system, make sure to run the application as Administrator and the above error shouldn't appear anymore.
This may be a silly question for most but is meant with "Domain" on the "Credential" screen?

The Domain is referred to the workgroup of computers where the GFI server is running. This is somewhat like where you specify the server and the credentials to store the BackUP. If you didn't set up a DOMAIN where to connect, then you might have to get in touch with your local administrator and he should provide all the necessary information on how to log-in.
Unfortunately, there is no information regarding your query, but from what it seems, this can happen either because the backup process was not complete or the backup files are corrupted. In both cases you should start the process again. For further information, I recommend you contact the support team.
When I do incremental backup it backups Full file. What am I doing wrong?

The behavior you are experiencing is not normal for an incremental backup. It seems like there might be an issue with the GFI BackUp Freeware program you are using. It is recommended to check the program's settings and documentation to ensure you are configuring incremental backups correctly. If the issue persists, contacting the program's support team for assistance would be a good course of action.
